I am going to start by explaining what a digital portfolio is. A digital portfolio is basically an online page you create about your achievements, exam results, CV’s and more.
The first and most important purpose for this digital portfolio is to help me in my application for a job after my BTEC course. My digital portfolio will contain assets such my exam results for my course, some of my assignments, my CV, a little document about my personality and more.
When I complete my course I will attach this digital portfolio to all my job applications. There are also a lot of people who will be applying for the same job as me, so my digital portfolio will make me stand out and also make my employers know that I am a serious individual. This digital portfolio will give me an upper hand against all other people who are applying for the same job.
The next purpose for the digital portfolio is to show my potential employers my capabilities. If I put my exam result on there, the employers will know what field of IT I am very good at by looking at the results. Adding some of my assignments will also make my employees see that I am an individual who can get work done even before they get to meet me which also gives me a high chance of getting the job.
Another major purpose of this digital portfolio is going to be showing off my talent or skills. In my digital portfolio I am going to embed of a short animation video that I worked on in my digital animation assignment. This will also make the viewers of my digital portfolio know about other skills I have or get to see my creative side.
The last but not least is my ability to organise things neatly or professionally. I am going to make my digital organise my digital portfolio very neatly and also make sure that it looks professional enough to get the attention of the people who visit it.
